Hey Outbackers,

Dylan here – book writer and lyricist of Clancy of the Outback: A Musical Adventure! I’m buzzing to share some exciting updates as our show comes to life.

Back in July, we held the very FIRST live reading of the musical at Antipodes Theatre HQ. With unbelievable talent – Wern Mak, Steven Gates, Ursula Searle and Sophie Loughran – our words and music were brought to life in front of an audience of industry professionals. It was truly magical. The response was overwhelmingly positive and gave Earl and me the affirmation that we’re on the right track with this story.

We’ve also taken on board some thoughtful feedback to refine the show even further, so when it finally hits the stage under the spotlights, it’ll shine its brightest.

And now for the really exciting part… thanks to the success of that first reading, we’re taking Clancy of the Outback: A Musical Adventure ON THE ROAD! We’re heading back to the show’s hometown roots (well, at least Phil and Earl’s) – Mildura! Mark your calendars for September 30, 2025, at the Powerhouse.

This performance will once again feature the incredible Ursula Searle and Steven Gates, and we’re thrilled to welcome Nicholas Dugdale and Stephanie Beza to the cast. So, if you’re in or around Mildura – or keen for a road trip – come along and support an original Aussie musical in its early days. It’s going to be a toe-tapping good time!
